Stephen Wells

Senior Instructor

Stephen Wells is the esteemed Recruiting Manager for the Geelong Cats in the Australian Football League (AFL). A Geelong Cats Life Member and an AFL Life Member, Wells has an extensive background in Australian football, having played senior football with Geelong Amateurs (VAFA), Ocean Grove (BFL), Geelong West (VFA), West Adelaide (SANFL), Southport (QAFL), and Echuca (GVFL). He also played representative football with the VAFA, BFL, VFA, GVFL, and the Victorian Country Football League. Wells commenced his career with the Geelong Football Club in 1984 as the “Country Zone Coach and Development Officer” based in Echuca and became the “Metropolitan Development Officer” in 1986. Since the early 1990s, he has held the position of Recruiting Manager, contributing significantly to the club’s success. Over his tenure, Wells has also served as Assistant Football Manager, Football Manager, and List Manager, cementing his legacy as one of the AFL’s premier recruiters and talent spotters.

Brad Lloyd

Experienced AFL administrator & course instructor

Brad is an experienced sports administrator in the AFL industry, spanning over 20 years of experience as an AFL Player Agent, Recruiting Manager, List Manager and currently General Manager of Football with the Carlton Football Club. Brad in his role as General Manager of Football represents the football department on the club executive team including both the Mens and Womens football programs. Brad’s role and expertise provides strategic direction and leadership for both programs. His role oversees key functions of the football department including List Management, High Performance, Medical, Coaching, Operations and Wellbeing. Brad has completed both a Bachelors Degree and an MBA at Victoria University. He has also completed executive business programs in Negotiation and Leadership at Harvard Business School.
